Phil began working in the taxi business in 1985 as an owner taxi driver. After 5 years, having gained a wealth of experience of the business, he started Newtax with his wife Joanne who operates the radio service most days and deals with all administration of the business. Newtax then incorporated in 2002 to become Newtax Limited.

All the taxis are licensed by Forest Heath District Council and undergo regular safety checks and tests in accordance with their policy. All the drivers undergo enhanced level Criminal Records Bureau checks before being awarded a license to operate a taxi vehicle.

All the vehicles are:

• Licensed Hackney Carriages
• Licensed by Forest Heath District Council
• Regularly safety checked in accordance with Forest Heath District Council regulations.
• Fitted with taxi meters which are calibrated and checked regularly with Forest Heath District Council
• Air-conditioned vehicles
• Easily recognised by the Newtax logo
• Connected to the Newtax office by two-way radio communications, enabling us to send your taxis as quickly as possible.
